{"id":366,"date":"2013-03-18T15:18:17","date_gmt":"2013-03-18T15:18:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/milecastle27.co.uk\/rob\/?p=366"},"modified":"2014-04-21T18:21:08","modified_gmt":"2014-04-21T18:21:08","slug":"for-sale-wheatstone-aeola-concertina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/milecastle27.co.uk\/rob\/2013\/03\/for-sale-wheatstone-aeola-concertina\/","title":{"rendered":"For Sale: Wheatstone Aeola Concertina (Sold)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>no longer available &#8211; Concertina is sold<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Offered for sale is a Wheatstone Aeola Treble concertina (#27864)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> 48 keys, 6 fold bellows, steel reeds, brass mounts, concert pitch, lovely tone, original leather case<\/li>\n<li>Original manufacture: May 8th, 1919 (<a title=\"wheatstone Ledger Entry\" href=\"http:\/\/www.horniman.info\/DKNSARC\/SD01\/PAGES\/D1P1150S.HTM\" target=\"_blank\">Wheatstone Ledger Entry<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Refubished: 2009 by that nice Mr Gibb @ <a title=\"The Box Place\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theboxplace.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">theboxplace <\/a>&#8211; incl pads, valves, thumbstraps &amp; retuning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The concertina came to me (~2008) from a lady who was sorting out her  grandfathers effects &#8211; the only history I have is &#8220;he&#8217;d had it all his  life&#8221; &#8211; but I doubt that was from new. You can see in the photos that  the fretwork has slots for bowing levers. There is no mechanism and  indeed there are no airholes in the actionboard base or the reedpan  (i.e. it was built like this).
